Aalon Butler and The New Breed Band Singer/guitarist/songwriter Aalon Butler was the lead singer of the New Breed Band with which he released two outstanding 45rpm singles. Their first release (It's Got To Be Something b/w Please Give Me A Chance) is a favorite in Northern Soul circles while their second release (Gettin Soul Pt.1 b/w Pt.2) has become a Deep-Funk anthem over the years. This is a super limited release of 300 copies worldwide so be quick before they all go!

Clarence Reid Clarence Reid is probably better known as Blowfly. This 45rpm single might be one of his rarest, and certainly one of his best! The backing track of Miss Hot Stuff is actually an instrumental called Screwdriver which was first released by Leon Austin. No question asked, Reid's screams and shouts puts the song to another level. You'd better be quick and get your hands on this limited reissue – the other option is to spend hundreds of $$$ for an original copy, if you can find one.

James & the Incredible Showmen James Brown Boo-ga-loo is, obviously, a tribute to the Godfather of Soul that must have had the dance floor jumping when they played it. A limited edition monster cut recommended for all Funk & Soul lovers. Don't sleep on this one!

Shirley Nanette This is a great reissue of a long forgotten gem that was released in 1973 by Satara, a tiny label in Portland, Oregon. Only 500 copies were originally released. Side A, “All of Your Life,” is a psychedelic dance floor burner that sounds like Marlena Shaw singing over a lost Jimi Hendrix instrumental. Side B, “People Are Thinking” showcases Shirley Nanette’s jazzy vocals over an uptempo backing track with Ethiopian horn melodies on top of a robust soul beat.

James Brown 7" reissue of a classic.

Harmonica Paul The raw and unpolished sound of 'Motherless child' definitely comes from how it was recorded. In those former days, when music was recorded in analogue it sounded warmer, and much more importantly, you were able to feel and not only hear the music. Take time and listen closely to this tune, it only lasts for two minutes and 42 seconds, but man it's full of power! Limited to 500 copies worldwide and comes with original artwork!
£8.00
Johnnie Morisette with Jennell Hawkins Sextette I'm Hungry was recorded in the early 1970s and has been a deep-funk classic since the mid 1990s. It's been featured on plenty of funk compilations but is now finally available on a limited edition, one sided 45rpm single too!
£6.00
Nino Nikolaidis Fortuna Records second release brings you two deadly Turkish cuts by Nino Nikolaidis. The A Side "Kiryakos 76" - is a wild instrumemtal backed by a fuzzy guitar and a manic farfisa organ. The flip "Ne Sevenim Var Ne Soranim" is a heavy, hypnotic and melancholic ballad with a haunting melody. Remastered & reissued for the first time, check it out!
£8.00
Roy Porter Sound Machine This release is strictily limited to 500 copies so be quick if you don't want to miss out!

Soul Brothers Inc The Soul Brothers Inc. hail from Houston, Texas and were likely one of the most important funk/soul groups in the city in the late 1960s until they broke up in the mid `70s. Tramp released The Story of the Soul Bros. Inc. in late 2010, now it is time to pick the two best songs for release on 45rpm single. The A-side, Pyramid, is a northern soul anthem and have been bootlegged many times. The flip side, Girl In The Hot Pants, is something for the deep funk 45 collector and probably the heaviest funk track they ever cut. Limited to 500 copies worldwide and comes with original artwork!

Betty Barney/ Chili Peppers Betty Barney is backed by the Pazant Brothers on this sister funk rarity originally released on GWP. Flip it over and it's an instrumental of the same thing! Great double sider or what?!

Big Ella Just in from Austria, this classic Bobby Rush-produced slab of sister funk is a 10th anniversary 45. No-one is messin’ with Ella’s determined grooves, and ‘The Queen’ is an awesomely uncompromising jam from this sovereign sister. The flipside is equally venerable stuff, ‘Too Much To Hold’ is an ascendant anthem of red-hot female sensuality. Miaow! She ain’t lyin’ either – when Ella opens those monumental lungs she most certainly commands the aural main-line.

Billy Garner About time these came out on a split single! Two big tunes that will have all funk fans salivating, check the huge drums on the flip!

Bobby Williams “He had a heart of gold, he'd give you his last. Once you were his friend, he will be your friend till the end. He was there for everybody.” – Annette Johnson, sister of the late Bobby Williams.
Back in the day there was James Brown, and everyone else. His energy, presence and charisma transcended his music, and despite what the music media of today will tell you, he was more influential on the music of the past 40 years than even the Beatles.
So it’s hardly surprising that his fans and followers in the ‘60s and ‘70s were so enraptured by his passion and uncompromising style that it rubbed off on them too. Thousands of bands recorded funk music bearing more than a resemblance to not only his music, but his vocal style too, though none came so close as being a James Brown clone as did Bobby Williams.
That’s not to say Bobby Williams spent his time perfecting cover versions of ‘Cold Sweat’ and ‘Sex Machine’. What Bobby did was pay homage to the Godfather by creating ‘Funky Superfly’ and ‘Soul Brother Party’. It wasn’t exactly a ‘Brand New Bag’, but it was certainly ‘A Bag of his Own’ – and he did it so well even James Brown himself gave his respect.
This box set showcases Bobby Williams & the Mar-Kings with their finest and funkiest moments and tells the story of the singer from his impoverished days as a child growing up in Georgia to the sell-out concerts given across the country. The pictures and extensive, original notes tell his story as told by the people who knew him best - his friends, family and fellow band members. Box Set Tracklist:
A - Funky Superfly Pt 1
B - Funky Superfly Pt 2
C - Let's Jam
D - Let's Work Awhile
E - All the Time
F - Darling Here is my Heart
