Skip Mahoney first came to attention as a member of the The Casuals who he originally formed while still in high school in Maryland. The band went through several incarnations before scoring their first record deal with D.C. International in 1974.
The group at that point included the composer James Purdie with whom Skip would hook up with many years later to produce the epic “Janice (Don’t Be So Blind To Love” for Salsoul. We also feature the original B-side, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, both sides being penned by Reg Vaughn and Matthew Allen.
This is the first time that the Salsoul coupling has been reissued in 25 years.
